At the Pangaini Forest Trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where you can see a variety of wildlife including gorillas hippos and birds is one of my favorite places at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s strange though, since Disney has gone to a lot of trouble to explain that Animal Kingdom is not a zoo, but rather a thrill ride park that’s also got animals and is themed around that, jungle trek walking paths like this tend to lead me in the opposite direction. I’d rather this place be a zoo that has some thrill rides rather than the other way around. I mean, if anyone in the world (Outside of San Diego?) is going to go over the top and make one of the biggest baddest zoos around, wouldn’t it be Disney?
Ah well. If I ever lived in the Orlando area I’d love to make a visit to the Pangaini Forest trail or the Maharajah Jungle Trek part of my regular fitness routine. Speaking of that, I’ve been wondering lately how better to get into shape for my next Disney trip. I’ve been overweight for most of my life, and getting tired of it. As much as I love Disney, it can wreak havoc on my body when I go because I’m just not in shape to hit the parks like I’d like to. I’m going to be brainstorming ways to get ready for my next trip, call it a new year’s resolution, and I’ll start to post them up on the blog soon.
Anything you do to get in shape for your next Disney trip? What is your favorite part of the Pangaini Forest Trail? Will you be ready for the hike through it next time you are there?
