The Swan and Dolphin: the Disney resort that isn’t

So right off the bat, I’m gonna bring up what everyone wants to talk about: The Swan and Dolphin are … different looking. I mean, these hotels opened in 1990 – right smack dab of the over the top 80′s and 90′s where collars and shoulder pads were big and my hair was gigantic. This is one of those times when creating something contemporary was just plain wrong and this poor resort has to live with it’s goofy look until someone decides they have had “all’s they can takes!”
What you get at the Swan and Dolphin:
- Extra Magic Hours
- Disney transportation
- Package Delivery from the parks
- Complimentary parking at the parks
- A gorgeous pool area
- Walking distance to everything the Boardwalk has to offer
- Excellent restaurants onsite include Fresh Mediterranean, The Garden Grove, Shula’s Steakhouse, Kimono’s, blue zoo, and others
The downside of the Swan and Dolphin resort:
It ain’t Disney and if I’m paying Disney prices, I want some hidden Mickey’s dag nabbit!
So I can’t come up with too many reasons not to go. But what about you? Have you been to the Swan and Dolphin? What did you think? Am I completely wrong?
