I still call the aquatic area at EPCOT, The Living Seas. Mainly because I don’t like how they’ve named the area. The Living Seas encompassed the whole pavilion and not just one part of it. But I digress.
This pavilion is made of up a saltwater aquarium, a dark ride, an encounter with Crush from Finding Nemo, a fabulous restaurant, and has it’s own tours and experiences.
The Living Seas pavilion opened in January 1986 and was originally themed with a sort of Johnny Quest theme complete with a “Hydrolator” that brought guests “down to the ocean floor” (in actuality you were only moved a few inches) to “Sea Base Alpha” where you could view various kinds of sea life. The pavilion started getting updated after the Pixar film Finding Nemo in 2004. January 2007, The Living Seas was rededicated as The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
We really like these attractions and over the next few days, we’ll be taking you on a tour of our favorite stuff.
