Can you eat with the founding fathers?

If you’re ever in the parks on Thanksgiving day, why not try to visit the Liberty Tree Tavern. Of course that’s not entirely fair. You should visit the Liberty Tree Tavern as often as possible when trekking the Magic Kingdom, a park that is, even with the opening of the Be Our Guest restaurant, is still sorely lacking in sit-down restaurants. Full of hearty dishes and a colonial atmosphere, you can certainly fill your belly before you tackle the other half of the park at this restaurant. One of these days I’m going to try and hit this one on the same trip with a visit to the Hall of Presidents.
I was horrified to learn that this location no longer has characters at it. (Disney Food Blog) I remember going there once for the character experience and getting lucky enough to be there on a day when Goofy was there.
After waiting by the fire for your ADR to come up, you’ll be led to one of six dining rooms, each based on a prominent figure in American History.
The Rooms
- Benjamin Franklin
- Thomas Jefferson
- John Paul Jones
- Paul Revere
- Betsy Ross
- George Washington
A wonderful experience, full of good food in a little nook that you could pass by without realizing it if you didn’t know where it was.
- A good link on the Disney Food Blog
